I finally got this little project finished, been so busy it took a good month to get thru!!
Some of you have seen some of this video in a thread I had going last fall....but then it was un-edited, long and admittedly kinda boring at times.
This was my first year self filming our/my hunts. I always knew it wouldn't be easy....guess what. I was right!
Not easy but very rewarding in the end when you can go back a see the memories you have forever captured on film.
My equipment was limited by myself, one, because I wanted small light gear that wouldn't be a pain to haul around, and, two, because of my limited budget.....so by most standards, I used very low end gear!!
The cameras, tripods, and low budget tree arm worked out good in that they were easy to carry in my pack.....but I definitely see a lot of room for improvement.
Filming was fun, challenging, and rewarding....but.....on the other side sometimes a pain. And sometimes I felt as if it took away from the experience because my focus was split on both getting stuff on film, and either trying to get something killed, or helping Cade out when things got exciting.
Another thing.....I have a new respect for the guys editing "good" hunting videos!!! It is truly and art form and to do it right, can get very expensive!
Again, because of my low budget, I used a very frustrating at times free editing site. Ok, but I can see a lot of room for improvement. I liked doing it though...
Also I didn't want to spend any cash on music, so I used free music I found on-line.
All in all, I'm looking forward to a lot more, upgrading my equipment, and educating myself more on everything about capturing hunts on video!
So here is the fall 2013 season that Cade and I had. First the preparation, then into the hunting.
