Help get a teen set up
« on: February 06, 2014, 08:59:00 PM »
Okay so he's been watching me shoot for a while and asked for a bow for his birthday. His parents have been going through some hard times and asked me to help with his request. I am giving him one of my bear grizzly recurves and a few shafts. It would be great if any of you could help with the things he needs. Pm me to get the address. I'll have him join the sight also to thank all of you when his birthday comes around. Here's what he needs
-feathers
-field points and broad heads
-glove/tab size m
-any hunting knives or calls
-string silencers
-arrow components
-arrow rest

This is a new scourge sweeping the internet lately. Good guys like Shawn and everyone else who help out without question are always willing to lend a hand to fellow Americans on hard time and these predators know what they can get from some of the hunting forums.

Good catch for sure fellas. Sad that this has become an issue.

There's a whole issue with this guy collecting free stuff over on the *********** currently. He goes by "Traditionalist" there, but his name is logged as Justin Vinci from New York. Claims to not know the Justin Vinci here, since he's from Utah (suddenly).

Okay guys I'm beyond sorry for what I did to justin vinci, who is the real boy who is recieving these items. I was wrong to take it into my hands instead of letting him do it for himself. I made many feel like they were scammed by providing the falsified info to them. It whatever you do, don't hate on the boy. He's commented on this thread and started a new thread introducing himself. I was wrong. If you have any more questions or would like to talk to the boy, he's made himself an account. His account is justin vinci. I am sorry for putting the stress on all of you and for putting the bad memo out for justin. I will seek to having this account disabled from tradgang also. Just want to say sorry for this, as justin ran over and was in tears about what I had done. My actions where wrong and I don't know how I'm going to ever make it back to him. Everything that was donated has been donated to the boy. These were made for him to use and I thought it would be good for him to use them. If you would like to see or contact the buy, there's a tread on leather wall about this.

The Justin Vinci who is apologizing on the other place is from NY, according to the user profile over there.  You are from Utah, according to your profile here.

:dunno:    Im not a wealthy man but if I had a young guy like that Id do my best to help him myself, especially as a new member.

I once had the misfortune of a TG sponsor gifting me  an item to give to a son of newly divorced parents. Long story short, I could not keep my end of the bargain when the young man became elusive and I could not photograph him using the item.

The item was given to me without solicitation upon the vendor hearing of this young mans plight.

Since that time, I have been extra careful how I post in the classifieds. Too many good people here (if thats possible), and almost any of them go above and beyond helping others even without being asked.

What Im saying is, if you know a person who needs a hand and you could take care of it yourself, maybe you should instead of asking for handouts.

I appreciate the apology but you put a bad taste in peoples mouth with your "well intended" hoax. Give up a night on the town and buy the poor guy what he needs with the money you saved. You'll feel better about yourself and this deal that you've created.

If the real you gets to know this forum, you will see that its a real community despite of it being on the internet and we like to take care and look out for each other when possible. Thats where I'm coming from.

Justin, you really need to stop this charade.  Your profile on the other site says you are from NY and you are Justin himself.  Here you say you are from Utah and are acting like you are Justin's neighbor, Mark.  What gives dude?

This is all very bizarre.  My curiosity got up on this for some reason, so I looked through the various threads with posts by "Justin Vinci" here, and "Traditionalist" over on the LW.

One thing I noticed was that the blanket in a photo from a "What bow is this" thread started by Justin Vinci [From: Utah] dated Oct. 21, 2013, is the same as the blanket/sheet in the background of a photo from Feb. 25, 2014, of the young man in the thread on the LW.

The photobucket link [  http://s768.photobucket.com/user/vincikids/library/?sort=3&page=1  ] in the "What bow is this" thread also has pics with the same blanket/sheet in the background.  There are also some other things in the photobucket pics that may have curious contents in light of this bizarre situation involving Rick Wallace, justin vinci, Justin Vinci ["From: Utah"], etc. (i.e., a recurve (camo riser?) with quiver and what appear to be full-metal jacket arrows, a number of other trad bows (8), a compound, some aluminum arrows, a shooting glove? [different from the glove in the Youtube vid?]).

The shoe on the foot of the person in the pic in the "What bow is this" thread also appears to be a shoe most likely worn by a teenage person (not an adult neighbor) -- that is the most reasonable inference anyway.  The shoes/laces also appear to match the "Vans" shoe in one of the photobucket pics.

This is all "head scratchin'" stuff.  Not sure why I posted this, just couldn't help myself.  Like others have concluded, it just doesn't seem like there is any "adult neighbor" involved here???

What appears to be the camo riser recurve (from the photobucket pics) in the teen, Justin Vinci's room (same floor covering - carpet/rug) . . . as of at least January 3, 2014.  "His Martin Jaguar."  This is not the bow he is shooting in the Youtube vid -    .
