I have had a Helle knife for a long time. It is so nice that I hate to use it.
For nearly 40 years I have been using a Green River knife.  They won't break the bank when purchasing and they are easy to sharpen.  Nearly all the butchers use them. They come in many shapes.

I'm glad I'm not as picky about my knives as I am with my bows (couldn't afford it).  Been using an old Schrade lock blade since I got it as a gift in my early teens. I knew an old timer in NW Wisconsin who field dressed more deer than I can count with an old Uncle Henry pocket knife. Anything sharp will work on a whitetail.

Hard to find, but my Gladstone Mi made Marbles Fieldcraft is my favorite small Hunter.

Fantastic knife
