Smokeys. Wiks

Any body use the smokeys lures and rope wiks. This past season ? Pics ?  Pros and cons. .

Yes. It works. Probably a lot of ways to do it.
What I did is put the wick in an area that was fairly easy for me to access, thus, avoid smelling up my area. I got photos of bucks within about 24 hours EVERY SINGLE TIME!

I always believed in smokeys deer lure since I used his preorbital lure on licking branches but never used the interdigital lure but gene took it to another level with the wicks!

Thanks pred80  got mine at Denton hill last summer during there seminar. Interesting .  Didn't have the time to really get into it  ill start early this year  going to get a trail cam this year any tips?

Use the hemp type rope aprox 3 to 4 feet off of ground make sure you use rope not with creosote or anything on it nylon rope works  putt couple drops of smokeys preorbital lure on it and set camera nearby and also a deadly  combination is use his interdigital lure in a mock scrape below and watch the camera activity always use rubber gloves...hope this helps but check out gene wensels wicked wicks article on experience!

Not a prob I will try to get a pic with my rope wick in use with a nice buck that was nocturnal and I never saw him in daylight  but he would visit  almost everynightL

I love my covert camera been out since last summer around august and still has two bars showing on battery also superb picture detail! I thought that was good for battery's since of the below zeros we been having

Any natural fiber rope will work. Nylon probably won't retain scent as well as cotton or hemp. Old anchor rope from salt water areas works. So does used barn rope and cotton horse leads. If you find scented rope, lay it in the bed of a pickup truck for a few months before use. I have both part one and part two of my articles on our website with some photos. Hang the end closer to three feet than four feet and make it easily visible and rigid if possible. Actually you can hinge cut a horizontal branch, bend it down and get by with a 12" piece of rope zip tied to the end of the hanging branch.
