New Bow - Kalamazoo related purchase
« on: February 11, 2014, 08:55:00 PM »
I ended up sending off for this one after the show.  I couldn't get it out of my head.

45#@28"  60"  Wicki Stick made by Matt Wirwicki of Wirwicki Primitive Archery (Matt's known for his self bows but makes a mighty find glass bow too).  Osage riser, bamboo lams, hickory veneers.  Smoooooth.  I draw 29.25"

I need to get some pictures of this beauty out in the snow.  She will be hunted!  I love this style of bow and this one is ultra smooth and quick.  I just really like the fact that the riser and veneers are traditional north american woods used for bows.

Sorry for the last photo isn't the best but you can see the drawn profile at my DL

Nice, I spent about an hour talking with Matt and watching him put sinew on the snakey self bow.  Great guy and eager to share his wisdom.  JIM

Nice looking bow, looks like it's going to be a real shooter....but it looks like the shelf is on the wrong side..  :biglaugh: ..sorry couldn't help it, enjoy and shoot straight!

Thank you guys!  I may get some pictures outside with it this weekend to show the limbs better .  I will ask Matt if he makes recurves.  He did not have any there.  I also bought this Osage blank from him.  It's laying next to a 1959 Grizzly in these pictures.  This should make a sweet bow.
