I couldn't quite figure out what this guy was trying to mow.

A tarantula nest hole.  I never met the occupant.

Centaur, I think you may be spending some time a few hours south of where I live in Gilbert. If you are ever in the Phoenix metro area and want to shoot send me a PM. There is a very nice range nearby with some pretty terrain and you can shoot both 3D targets and pictures of animals on  regular targets.

Azhunter,
We are out by Superior. Thanks for the invite, but I do my best to avoid going to the megamess. Globe is about as big as I want to go to. If you are ever out this way, pm me.

Mark, are you talking about the range at Usary park NE of Phoenix?  My wife and I drove through there this year and are thinking we might try a couple of weeks camping there next year,  probably later in January after the season closes.  Seems like a nice place just far enough out so it doesn't feel like city.   Would love to get together if we do end up there.

Here you go.  To make your desert sessions even more enjoyable.  Had to pack the range again today.
at least it warmed up to the mid 30's.

And I know a lot of you have way more snow than I do,though not you guys in AZ!
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

My folks are in Globe , Miami area. There is a little town called Pleasant Valley where my great great grandfather settled. The grave yard there is full of Tallants and my aunts and uncles and cousins still live there and in Young and Globe. My dad went to school in Pleasant Valley and never had a pair of shoes until he was 16. When I got married he was always getting after my wife because she went barefoot all the time. He could not understand why anyone that could afford shoes went barefoot. LOL.
That country is awesome country. I saw the first wild turkeys I ever saw up by Cherry Creek. What a deal!!!! Only thing I don't miss about it is the spiders and snakes. Kind of like Texas there in that everything God made that stings , sticks or bites is in abundance.

That country sure gets in your blood though.

God bless, Steve

NICE! It was shorts and t-shirt weather here in Denver today and now  it's snowing, don't want to live in the desert again YET, but it looks like a nice place to visit right now!
