My custom bow experience

I am brand spanking new to this forum and only in my second year of trad archery.  Currently I am on a paid vacation to beautiful Afghanistan courtesy of Uncle Sugar.  Prior to leaving I wanted a new longbow.  After some searching I discovered a gentleman by the name of Mr. Berry lived five minutes down the road.  Long story short he opened his home, shop and great depth of knowledge to me on several occasions.   I shot his personal morning star and low and behold I have one on order waiting for my return.   I cannot say enough about the sincere kindness Mr. Berry has shown me and just how fine a product he produces.

Last month I made the mistake of clicking on the thunderstik archery add above the home forum.  After numerous emails Mr. Jim Reynolds is going to make my homecoming even more special with his MOAB.  He is truly one of the nicest guys I have ever done business with and has been 100% dedicated to ensuring the bow I ordered is exactly what I envisioned.   Mr. Reynolds thankyou for your patience and kindness.

Well Chris...for being new it seems you have a gift of finding great bowyers.  I own a thunderstick mag and am waiting on my second which should be done in a few weeks.  A Berry bow is on my wish list!  I am sure you will be thrilled with each bow!  Stay safe over there- thank you for your service!  Welcome to Tradgang brother!

Thanks for your service. I see Hawaii is home, are you with the 25th ID? I wore the "Electric Strawberry" on some jungle fatigues a 'few' years ago.
That Morning Star looks like a great bow; I wouldn't mind having one myself. It looks like your foray into traditional archery will start off with some of the nicest bows around.
Stay safe over there, and here's hoping that your return to the Land of the Big PX is soon.

Hope your new bows serve you as well as you and your military brothers have served all of us. We are anxiously awaiting your safe return so you can sling some arrows. I salute you for serving our great country.

While I don't claim to know what it takes to stay safe over there, a friend mine says if they ask for volunteers with farming experience don't do it.  It is time for Capitan Peace to end that enterprise.  Be careful with that Morningstar, mine hurt me today.  It is an addictive thing to play with and I get very OCD about its safety.  I hung mine very carefully on my apple tree, so I would not risk falling on the ice by my target.  I heard a whistle behind me.  A cedar waxwing was perched on my baby.  I yelled and waved to get him off and fell on the ice, my hip is hurting.  But even worse, the little bugger pooped on my bow when he took off.

Sounds like a bad shooting session there pavan! I'm sorry, but when I picture that scenario it cracks me up

Just want to thank everyone for the warm welcome and prayers for safety.   I really did luck into both of those guys.  Actually made a flemish string jig after work today from scrounged up lumber and some loose nails.  Been sitting on a little B50 and instructions for a month.  I wont say my first attempt (3) were successful but I stuck with it and am looking at my first string.  Hope everyone has a great day.

I'm not sure where they are now but Trad gang sent a  bunch of bows over to Affy for troops to shoot.

It took me far more than 3 tries to get the first thing to resemble a string.
