I'm looking to replace old string on my 55#@28 The Stick signed Howatt .I measured the the strung brace height and it 7 inches. The unstrung string under tension measures 57@1/4
inched.String .Ive looked at Howatt web site they say brace height 6-6.75 On the Martin web site it says brace height 6@ 3/4to 7@3/4.I dont have tip overlays its older Who's right Martin or Howatt web site When i called Martin they said a 59 inch string .I talked to a string marker and this is what his says don't get too stuck on that brace height because it is not written in stone. Its just a suggestion Nonetheless I can make you a string about 57 1/2 and it will take you down about 1/2 on your brace. THEN in the summertime when it gets hot it will sneak down a little more and you can twist it up. It sounds like your string is B50 and on that bow I would recommend B50.And this guy makes some of the beautiful strings I ever saw.So anyone that owned one your input will be much appreciated
