My two boys and I may come up to hunt in the Ripley area for bear. It will be their first.
The youngest much to his dismay will only tag along, although he has the deepest hunting instinct out of all of us.
I have not hunted Maine for bear in about 10 years.
Got a couple up in the Stratton area back then.
Love Maine. Deer hunted Oquossack and Rangely Plantation for many years.

I sure would like to, but pretty doubtful. Although I might be hunting bears in Michigan this fall.

Just an fYI don't forget that this fall there will be a citizens ballot attempt to basically end bear hunting in Maine. We will be voting on rather or not to continue to allow bear hunting with bait, hounds, and traps. Everyone in Maine needs to get out this fall and vote this foolish question on the ballot down.

It appears non-residents can just buy a tag, no draw or limits within hunting units. Is this correct?
