Zwickey has a single bevel, screw-on "No Mercy," I don't remember if it has a tanto point though.

I believe VPA makes the only one piece. All the others listed above are modular.

VPA is a double bevel.
I like A Bowyer, just shot 2 hogs with great results.  You do need an insert to get to 250-300 grains but just as strong with a steel insert.

I'm pretty sure that Zwickey No Mercy don't have a Tanto point.

I like Abowyer glue in Boneheads with Titanium inserts installed. I never had a failure.....  they come in at 175... They come right or left wing....

All these and many more animals killed with this head and light draw weight bows....

Easton Axis 300's cut 29.5" 50 gr. insert 200gr. point 3x4" shield cut feathers total arra weight 615gr. for the 60# A&h..  Lookin gfor some indestructible heads,to go for a flight!!!   :biglaugh:

Dan I used epoxy.....  cleaned them very well the glued. I have never had one come out. The Titanium insert goes up inside the broadhead perfect and leaves a tiny lip that acts like a little cap on the 100 grain inserts I use. I spin tested them and they were perfect...  very clean set up. The Abowyers are extremely easy to get a scary sharp edge on and everything I shot in Africa had two holes using my 50@28 Thunderchild drawn to 27"s.

(my arrows were 29" 3555 Gold Tip Expedition Hunters, 100 grain insert, 175 grain Abowyers. I have never had an arrow leave a bow and fly straighter.)

Good luck in Africa!!!

just a thought....

Maybe a lighter insert and a heavier head?
...like the Abowyer brownbear?

Or of course go with a double bevel VPA.
Maybe VPA would make some single bevels for you or have some "dull" un sharpened ones you could put your own bevel on...?

I'm not sure why you wouldnt want to use the grizzleys???
The are up to the challenge.  Extremely tough heads .
I killed kudu,a couple impala and a big baboon with them on my trip to South Africa .
I wouldn't be afraid of putting them up against ( or through ) any plains game animal.

Good luck on your hunt!

I dunno know?? It's kinda like YOU fix your power steering or master cylinder. It works , but... is it RIGHT?? My GRIZZ spin true and are lasik sharp, but I worry about the ferrule. It's aluminum.so.. I don't want to worry.!! Andy Ivey says the Ferrule is the weakest point.I think he oughta know.

I was reading a thread quite a while back over in the Africa forum about heads. I think it was one of the guides over there that chimed in and said that the only heads that have never failed is the Tuffhead and VPA. The VPA is all one piece, the Tuffhead had to have a titanium insert because even steel inserts will bend.
