Hello:

Blacky's website may NOT be current.  He's been busy and as of a month ago had not posted his completed results for A&H's Gen-2 ACS longbow limbs.  Speak with Larry at A&H about what Blacky told him the Gen-2's have achieved. I have two sets and they are exceptionally smooth.

Regards,
Kevin

I've shot a lot of different bows.  Yes, some are faster than others by a bit.  But speed is way down on my list of things I want in a bow.

Far more important is how the grip fits your style,  noise,  smooth draw,  etc.  When it comes down to it there are plenty of bows that are all plenty quick enough and not very different from each other in the speed department.  No amount of speed can make up for a bow that doesn't fit your style.

For speed, nothing can touch an A&H. Second would be a Hummingbird. Whips are right up there also.

I have shot dozens of different models at shows.  Fastest I have shot, pound for pound is the Hill Country K-2.

Depends on the arrow weight as well.  I cna get my MOAB well over 200 fps with lighter carbon arrows, but approach dry fire with mt 63# LB.  Like a 650-750 grain arrow and get @180+ fps which is good enough for pigs and deer.  Quiet kills, not speed.

Whip nailed it.

The fastest I have shot and I've shot a lot is Ken Rohloffs Whippenstick. Check out the old walk the talk thread. Funny thing is, if you look at the bow its not radical looking at all. So it's also very accurate and forgiving. I'm pulling 59 pounds at 30 inches with a 525 grain arrow and getting 193fps.   Bill

I've owned two, an ACS and a Black Swan. The Black Swan shot a flatter arrow, but I like the ACS better.

No question the omega archery hybrid is the fastest hybrid i have used or tried. Bow just straight up flings a heavy arrow. Plus they dont cost alot.

give them a look. the owner is really nice and sends you updates through the build and stands behind his work.
