Thinking about ordering a Silvertip longbow.

I have tried to do a search. But every time I do nothing pops up. So I will ask. I have a 28.5" draw length. For those of you that have shot the longbow what length bow would you suggest? Also I know I want the camo limbs. And a checkered riser but am undecided on riser wood. Plain limb knobs or antler, bronze. Most pictures you see of tips with antler knobs are the curves. Anyone got any pictures of longbow with them? If you where ordering one what would you have done to it or not done with it? And please post pictures if you have them. No Curves I just want to see the longbows. I know the curves look great and I got nothing against them but would lik ed to see longbows only.
Thanks

64 inches, maybe 66. Dave is the best one to ask about that. Not a fan of antler burrs. Just something more to catch on brush. If you're talking the WWII camo cloth under the glass, it will be more difficult to sell those, should you ever decide to, than wood veneers under clear glass, or a solid colored glass. Not as many folks like that camo look. Have fun. Silvertips are very nice bows.

I think the website recommends 66" for your draw length.

I have an extra set of 54# limbs that make a 64" bow if you can use them. Walnut Burl. I like the streamline of the plain bolts....Tom

Jeremy,
I know you are talking about a 3 pc bow, but the 1 pc Silvertips I've seen are gorgeous. They are slim and trim as a longbow (IMO) should be.
I just put up some photos of a 2 pc (no longer made) on another thread. Put together it looks like Dave's 1pc longbows.

I don't know guys. I have a 3 piece bow that is 62 inches and I draw it to nearly 30. It is like butter! 55# @ 28 and I have no issues with stack. It is quickly becoming my favorite Silvertip.

Thanks for the replys. I should have stated that I was looking at getting the 3 piece take down. There website doesn't say anything about it. Or even show a picture of one. I will call them and talk to them. I just wanted to hear some opinions and see some pictures.

Anyone have one with camo limbs and a walnut colored riser? What I am kinda thinking is having a 3 piece made up that kinda looks like or resembles a vintage tip. Like I said I have a 28.5" draw. I was hoping that 62" bow would work. (If Dave draws is to 30" I think I should be good.) I have been shooting bows in the low to mid 60# range for 14 years and am thinking I would like to step up to around 70#.I know that a person does not need that heavy of a bow to kill anything in North America but I kinda like shooting heavy arrows out of hard hitting bows.

Mine is pretty plain Jane except for the checkered grip. It is charcoal dymondwood and has the black glass on the limbs.

I have a 30" draw and I shot the 64 & 66" side by side and I liked the 64" much better. Bob

Nice looking Schafers Dave- I'm playing with thoughts of a three piece longbow of Daves. I Like the looks of yours.

I'd say 62 or 64" myself. 28.5 isnt that long of a draw and the shorter bow will be more maneuverable and a little quicker.
