Have seen cubs do that before but never one that size. My guess is he knew something was up there and he just wanted to inspect it a bit closer. Seems like after he got a good close up whiff he decided that he knew enough and time to go back down.

That is great!!! Wow. Looks like the edge of his arm (?) that you see at the side of the frame as the bear goes bak down has a bit of a SHAKE to it. Can't imagine why!!!!!! Thanks for posting!!!
