skookum tabs
«

I have a very well used split finger Skookum archery tab with seal skin and a spacer. This tab is no longer made. Alaska Archery has only 2 left hand large tabs. Can anyone recommend a comparable tab to this. I am really accurate with this tab because the hard leather back of the tab aligns the string. I have seen a Cavalier hair tab that does look similar. Any comments would be appreciated.

The Cavalier Elite tab lets you align the string along the edge of the aluminum plate...in addition it is available with calf hair, super leather and cordovan leather tabs which are actually interchangeable within a particular size...I have all three and prefer the cordovan version

i really like the skookum tabs, i bought 5 or 6 from ABS when they went out of production.. the cavalier does look to be pretty close, for what its worth they still have large left handed tabs

Check out the signature tab by Wyoming Wildlife Artistry sold by Safari Tuff. It has the same alignment feature as the tab you are describing. I have used it since it came out, and it is my favorite tab. Since Scott Teascher seems to have taken an extended leave of absence from leatherwork, they may become difficult to get after a while too.
