Very cool article. My first custom bow was a Brackenbury Legend, if I remember correctly 1989. Jim was a great guy to deal with.

I've never personally dealt with Wes but I've heard nothing but praise for his bows and his business.  Glad to see his workmanship showcased!

The article was from March 2011. I remember reading on one of the forums (I think it was here, but it was a while ago) someone noted that it was their bow pictured with Wes holding it.
I almost went with yew veneers because of that photo.

Very nice read.  I've got a Royal that I bought off a friend and I absolutely love it.  Wes shaved some weight off it for me.

Nice article.  I've owned quite a few of his bows; I seem to like his particular grip shape.  I still have one, although I got away from pretty wood bows cause I was always so paranoid about dinging them up.  I even looked at his website again last night after reading the article, but he isn't showing the shorter handle version that he mentions in the article.  I guess you need to call and ask him about that.  I wish I could afford some clothing from Kuiu, everyone says it's very nice, but it's pretty expensive.  I certainly don't hunt enough to justify it.

I have 6 Wes Wallace bows. One of the hardest decisions I would have to make is if I only could have one. I love them all dearly but if I was forced to make a choice it would be my B-Model Mentor. 56" 61#@28", it has the working limbs of a 60" Mentor. Shoots with laser like precision and can go anywhere. Recently I sent it back to Wes to have him touch it up after I did some customizing to it. I also wanted his opinion about string silencing. After getting the bow back with a new string I had to re-tune my arrow setup because it picked up more speed. Well over 200fps with 650gr. I had to drop 75gr of front weight to get them to fly like bullets. I had tons of junk on that old string, now just two rubber string silencers Wes is using. Awesome!!!!!!!!!! Wes IS the Man!
