Hello everybody! First post here, and I am planning on lurking for a while so I can soak up some knowledge on bows in general, Bow crafting, bow fishing, and bow hunting. I'm particularly interested in hunting Gator, (I know I 'm a weird one!).
Anyway, a little bit of history on my self; I did a 5 year stint with the Marine Corps, which sparked my interest in firearms, which eventually sparked an interest in hunting, and now I want to get into different aspects of hunting, fishing and outdoorsy-ing and learn to craft new and more useful things. Also, before and during my time in the Marines, I dabbled in Luthery, that is the art of making stinged instruments, so I know my around a modern carpentry shop at least.
After I got out the Marines I bought my first Pistol, a Gen3 Glock 17, and I love it to this day. It turned me into a sort of range junkie, lol. I Just bought my first Rifle, a Yugoslavian SKS, a little bit ago and am enjoying it emmensly. But the wife and I have also been experimenting with knife throwing lately and we're both enjoying that quite a bit to.
She started expressing interests in bows as well, and also talking about her own pistol now. She's come a long way from when I first met her and I could not be more proud.
So, eventually I plan on making us a few starter self bows, and eventually graduating to larger higher poundage bows. Anyway, I'm still new at hunting so I'm hoping to learn some tips and tricks to hunting in general here, as well as gain knowledge on the craftsmanship of bows.
Anywya, thanks to the administrators for having me!
