Work of art

Ran across this pic yesterday while surfing. It may have been posted before, but felt it needed to be brought up again.

A total masterpiece!!

Yep, there was another thread last week. Like I said over there, I don't think I could own that bow because I would have a heart attack every time it touched anything!

Those arrows are REALLY sharp too!

Tastes vary widely and I agree with the old saying "beauty is in the eye of the beholder".  Personally, I find that custom bows and arrows like bamboo fly rods, knives etc... are a small canvas for the artist to work on and get crowded pretty quickly.

I'm digging the arrows myself

Me too.  I think the bow is too "busy" for my taste, but those arrows are COOL!

The feathers are peacock, I think.  Pretty soft.  Certainly not worth $100 each.  The riser is too much.  Simpler would have been better.  But certainly is something for sure!

I think that's an insanely cool bow.
Would love to have one, but wouldn't/couldn't justify the expense at this stage of my life, nor would I judge the lucky few who can.

That's why we all have individual tastes. It keeps lots of craftsmen busy satisfying those tastes.

I normally like things clean and simple, but I have an over/under combination gun made in Ferlach Austria. Many would find it too "gaudy" with elaborate engraving, gracefully curved hammers and a carved, typically German stock of beautifully streaked walnut. It almost looks out of place in my gun safe, but everything fits well together as a package.

I agree with Bisch - I'd have a tough time shooting it and I really don't want to own something I can't shoot.

Doesn't mean I don't find it pretty, though   :)

It is cool. And I like fancy but I couldn't justify the cost to have it just as a showpiece.  I agree with Keith, im more suprised with tge cost of a $100 arrow than the cost of the bow.

I'd hunt with that... No such thing as too pretty, only too shiny! Craftsmen generally want their work to be used, not just admired. The dents and dings of a well loved piece just make it that much more special.

Argus pheasant.  One of those things fly tyers used in the 1920's to make life hell for us now.

You guys are right, that is one heck of a master piece bow. Matter of fact I just saw that same exact bow or one just like it at the PBS Banquet in Cincinnatti this past week. Norm Johnson of Blacktail had a booth set up there.

I can appreciate fine carvings. It's no different than a finely engrave Parker side x side. It's a work of art. If I was born rich instead of good looking, I'd have it on display in my Man Cave!!
