Tapered carbons can be hard to bareshaft sometimes.I think a lot can depend on the how the riser is cut.I bought some used parallel carbons and were showing alittle stiff. So I thought I could add more front end weight to weaken the spine. They got worse and showing even stiffer the more weight I added.I did tune the same spine carbon arrow to that bow,but started with a full length and they ended up about 1&1/2 inches longer then the used ones I had bought.Carbon recover and act differently on some bows. This was on a longbow that was cut about a 1/8" off center.Might have worked out if it was a recurve cut past center. But I have found a tapered carbon can give you alittle trouble bareshafting. Some don't recommend to bareshaft a tapered carbon.
