South African hardwood called African teak but not a teak, cool looking, should look good in a bow. Interesting tales that go with it.

My geography was off by a continent or two. Not my best subject. It is a good looking wood, hopefully, the gods don't blame me for its demise.

I received a Sasquatch from Kirk last month. Great bow.  Silent, no hand shock, pulls smoothly and hits right where you're looking.  Kirk worked really hard getting my grip just like I wanted it.  Great guy and great bow.  Look forward to pictures of yours!

Here's a couple pics for you... i've sent a link to photo bucket with a few more....  I've just got a sealer on the wood right now.... the finish will bring out the the iridescence in the wood a lot more.

I'll send you a few more after i get her polished up and get it out in the sun light bro. these indoor photos doesn't do the wood justice.

Many bowyers make awesome looking bows.  Many bowyers make bows that perform well.

I've been most impressed with how Kirk manages to show talent at taking pretty woods and making awesome looking bows---combined with his penchant for delving into the mechanics of how bow designs function, refuses to accept the status quo, dissecting the mechanical process and then experimenting with designs to get the utmost performance out of every ounce of energy, we the shooter, put into drawing our bow.

No handshock.  Awesome vertical AND horizonal stability.  Excellent fit and finish- with all that mechanical transfer of energy into the arrow's flight, not my body on release!

That and an uncanny ability to shape a handle to fit most anyone's paw and/or their shooting style  keeps me scratching my head.  Ole Sixby and Kirk seem to be cut from the same basic mould!

I'm sure there are others, but Kirk is one that FINALLY...finally built me a bow I will die with!

Hey Gery,  I'm curious about the interesting stories behind the Iroko. Want to share those?

I think this stuff would be an excellent carving wood. The density consistency is very uniform without any distinct winter/ summer growth rings. This would allow very detailed tooling. It's not real heavy in mass weight either.

Great looking bow, and. I hear the performance is top tier.

Kirk, if you don't mind me asking, what is your wait time at these days?

Kirk, just what I read online here and wikipedia, wonder if the spirit enhances the bows powers?

My official wait time is 6 months, but they are going out a little sooner for the guys ordering right now. I'm catching up on orders pretty good right now.

You know..... all these bows vary a bit in performance, and this design is typically a very good shooter that runs toe to toe with the fastest double carbon bows on the market...... But this particular bow tested out extremely fast for a no frills brown glass, bamboo core limb.

This is the first 62" bow i've ever built that hit 201 fps at 10 GPP.  It hit 207 at 9 gpp..... every now and then ya get one that's just hot.

She came out 55@31" right on the nose, and boy does she have some manners.

look at this string angle at 31" draw here. i haven't seen too many 68" long bows with that nice of string angle...... Finger pinch?  Not on these babies.... Even the 60" model draws to 32" with no finger pinch issues at all. These Sasquatch Hybrid   long bows are a long draw length archers dream come true.

The first 4 arrows out of the bow were fighting over a dime sized spot.

There you go, I doubt that many carbons bows will perform with that bow or better it by much. Add carbon to it and watch out .
I am kind of impressed with that kind of accuracy coming out of a hot bow that is a hunter model.

Maybe just a little bit.

God bless, Steve

Kirk,
in the strung profile your bows have an extra bend in the limbs...vs many others. So your limbs work a bit different than others?

Curious as to why you came up with that?
