What makes a Silvertip do what it does?
« on: April 18, 2014, 01:20:00 PM »
All  that I can say is "they sho does shoot!" Immaculate craftsmanship and legend aside, Ive come to realize that the bows damn near shoot themselves. Why? To the naked eye they don't look any different technologically from other similar bows. Is there some technology Im missing.

I won't go into details and brag on myself but I recently shot a bow belonging to Kat and the results gave me a silly looking grin that comes from a holy crap moment.     :bigsmyl:    Kinda like this.

What do you think the special sauce is that makes them what they are?

I feel the same way about some other bowyers Izzy.  The tips are at the top of the food chain though.  Great looking bows, I can't think of a bad looking one that I've seen.

They were built by an excellent hunter......and still are!! I wanted one for a long time.....got one and shot the best Muzzy event I ever shot with it. I will say I no longer have it but it's not because it wasn't good! I would think it's one of the best grips out there! Pretty easy on the eyes also!!!

Great grips, and design. Attention to detail doesn't hurt either.

It still isn't for sale.   :biglaugh:    :biglaugh:

Ohhhh, the feel of a Silvertip!  The checked grip that feels as comfortable in your hand as your favorite lazy boy chair does on your butt.
The beautiful cast they have when the string slips from your fingers.. There's a "magic" in these bows.
The workmanship of a true craftsman that one can only appreciate when he/ she has it in their hands.
The comfort one feels when the Silvertip has become an extension of their arm...
Come to WI... You'll see!   :goldtooth:

I switch back and forth between my Tip and Habu. Both amazing bows. They just have that ''it factor''.

Wonderful bows!  I've shot only longbows since I sold my Silvertip many years ago but it's one bow I wish I still had with me.   :(

They are top shelf bows for sure. I wish they would come to a Midwest event so we can test shoot and maybe order some!

I am a Silvertip nut and after a lot of thinking about this I believe it is the grip and the mass weight of the riser.  Obviously the design of the bow is sound, but I think the grip fits most people well and the mass gives them great stability.  I love the recurves and the 3-piece longbow is the only longbow I have ever shot really well.
