How can I "Girl" it up?
« on: April 20, 2014, 05:02:00 AM »
I just got my daughter a Samick Sage for her 11th birthday and I think she likes it well enough as-is but I'd like to "pretty it up" for her and make it a little more unique. I'm already thinking a custom colorful string and maybe some pink or purple silencers, if I can find some for her.   :dunno:

What other suggestions do y'all have for me? Is there something I could do to the riser to stain the lighter wood? Any other suggestions?

Thanks for that suggestion! Couple of pink camo limbsation options there and a LOT of options for doing up her arrows.

Any other thoughts or suggestions?

If you go to the Janns Netcraft web site you can get rubber fishing lure skirt material to make cat whisker silencers. It is very cheap and comes in every color imaginable(including pink), even some with sparkles,

I let my daughter take sharpies to her bow. She put different patterns and flowers on it made it hers, then hit w a coat of satin from a shaker can. Its hers and she still loves it 5yrs later, along w a custom string, and silencers she made out of yarn. Todd

Stickers and paint could pretty it up and make it personal to boot.

Girl it up? As a married man with 3 daughters and 1 out numbered son, here's my suggestion.

Step 1. Get 6 strings in 6 colors.

Step 2. Put one string on and see how it looks in the mirror.

Step 3. Go back upstairs.

Step 4. Wait 20 minutes.

Step 5. Try another string and see how it looks in the mirror.

Repeat steps 2 thru 5 on remaining strings. Ultimately choose first string you put on.

I put red woolies of my grandaughter's Sage and she likes them better than my old black ones. I'll make you a pair and mail them to you if you PM me your address. Sorry I don't have pink.

You can always add really cool color arrows  that will add to the bow, even if the bow changes are minor.

Red, I'll run the red color by her and see if that's one of her favorite colors this week. Lol. Either way, that's a very generous offer, Thank you!

Give her some options and let her fix it up herself if that's what she wants.
