Call me weird, but I don't re-fletch until feathers are absolutely tattered or severely damaged. I keep shooting them, as stumpers and such. (I shoot aluminum only, by the way.) When I do re-fletch, I cut the nock and all the old feathers off and soak the shaft in acetone. Then I dip in clear fletch-laq, put another nock on, and new feathers. With that method, my feathers really stick on well. I have several thousand nocks at my disposal, from my dad's old archery shop inventory, so never worry about trying to save an old nock.
