Carping with my daughter
« on: June 01, 2014, 09:18:00 PM »

I took my 11 year old daughter, Belle, out bowfishing for the first time today.  It was a lot slower today than it was last week but she was able to connect on her first fish anyway.  I could've been happier or prouder at that moment.  She's taking her bowhunter safety course in a couple of weeks.  I hope she's hooked for life.  She asked me "Dad, can I go with you everytime you go out?"  That was music to my ears!!

That's awesome! I'm very proud for both of you.

I can't wait til my little girl can pull enough weight to kill fish. I know she will be hooked then...that's what hooked me! My dad had me in the woods as long as I can remember...I killed my first deer when I was 8. But he never took me bowfishing.

My little girl is my good luck charm when shooting fish. I took her with me the other day and we massacred the fish. I entered a tournament on Saturday without her.......I killed two.

Congrats Belle!

Shag08 I know what you mean about bow weight I think she was boarder line on weight ( about 20 lbs at her draw length) I was worried about penetration. I also have an 8 year old but I'm making her wait a few years before she bowfishes. I feel bad leaving her home but I make up for it with some one on one fishing for pan fish with her.

I went back out with my dad today I got about 10 fish and we shot so many that our big rubber maid tote was over flowing with fish. My mom will put the pictures on later.
