I concur with the above comments. Go to some shoots and test some or get a used longbow first. Some good ones listed on TradBow forum right now. Shoot as many types as you can before you order new and go the custom route. The Hoyt Buffalo is a nice bow also so nothing wrong with just shooting it. The Tomahawk by 3 Rivers is made by Great Plains also so that is a option. I shot a Great Plains before but not that specific one, very nice but not amazing for me. Nothing wrong with the Bear Patriot as a less expensive first longbow either. You have to shoot different bows to find the one that fits you best. Some top longbow include Cari-bow, Hummingbird, Wallace, Toelke, Javaman, Black Canyon, Schafer, Stewart, Dwyer and Centaur among many others. Welcome!!!!!
