Really?
« on: June 19, 2014, 02:51:00 PM »
I managed to make it to a 3D shoot a week ago.  My son shooting his Hill and me my Bear T.D.  We came across a group of 20 somethings and one guy goes, "Cool bow!  When did they start making them without cams?"

Wait another 10 years and they are going to be asking why you hold your bow vertically instead of horizontally. It is becoming a lost art.

THE most important thing when concerning scenarios such as this is to be first and foremost an ambassador for traditional archery.  Sure this kind of thing is annoying and sad to a degree BUT our sport gains nothing if we don't take the high road.  Check elitism and poor manners at the door.  Win them over if you can.  Always be at your best and welcome those without the knowledge into the fold!

She should spend a few hours at a butcher's shop, on the cattle kill floor. Maybe she would learn where the stores make meat!

I'm an optimist and have faith in "the common man".  As such I'm partly glad for the ignorant members of the extremes because ridiculous and asinine statements such as hers do not further her cause, but rather reveal to said common man the idiocy behind them.  The extremes help us find the middle and if that poor girl actually thinks meat is "made" in a market... Well heck, I'm laughing as I'm writing this just thinking about her believing it!  Pretty confident she's no threat to us!
Mike
