Bill set me up with the Grizzly Instinct heads for a trip I just completed. I was on the island of Molokai and hunted axis deer for ten days. I probably had 50 deer at ranges under 30 yards, but never pulled the string. I can't say how the Instinct performs on big game, but I can tell you that these are completely premium broadheads. No shortcuts...no burrs...nothing but near-perfect steel and wicked killing power. They look like you could drop one accidentally and penetrate your foot completely.

Is the ferrule width going to remain the same for the 175gr heads?

I'm confused. I thought they came in at 190.... Is that with the screw-in adapaterare or are they 200 glue-on?

I want some new woodies with the Instinct on the killing end. Hunting season is getting close and I'm starting to get the itch!

Very nice looking 3 blade. If I was a 3 blade guy I would be all over those. I love my Grizzly 2 blades. Great job!

The farrel on the 175 is 11/32" in stead of 23/64". That is one way we can drop weight off of the 200's and still use the same dies for both heads.

Blano the small run of 375 heads did average just about 190 but there were several I had to scrap because of voids in the braze.

Are they double bevel or single bevel only? Would be interested in double bevel so to sharpen them on a grinder like Snuffers...

Red Feather Archery in Oregon makes both a glue on single bevel 3-blade and a one-piece screw-in single bevel 3-blade.

I have shot both - into foam only - and the construction is excellent.

Zbone, the instinct heads are a breeze to sharpen.

can you imagine the hole from a single bevel 3-blade,,,,, sharpening would be a hassle I think though.

HUMMM...I think it would be counter productive. The 3 single bevels would be trying to twist when going through tissue but the 3 blades sticking up would make it very difficult for the head to turn. Because there are 3 separate blades sticking up. The head would be trying to move a lot of tissue to actually twist.Just my best guess though. I dont have any actual experience with a single bevel 3 blade.

My thought on a single bevel 3 blade would be it would be tough to sharpen. If you can't sharpen the blades super sharp then it wouldn't help penetration.

Looks great Bill.  I love the needle tip that looks to be very strong.  Safe to say you will get no, or very little tip curl shooting through deer sized critters?

Nope, not a problem to sharpen the RFA heads.  Quality steel and could get them sharp quickly.  No experience on critters, but they would turn like a single bevel two blade in a target.

Bill, I have to say those heads look mean!  I have no money, but I'm still going to try and get a few before deer season!

Are the 175 grain heads the weight as a glue on or with an insert installed?
