Boat Load of Fun
« on: July 14, 2014, 06:34:00 PM »
The other night a  few PBS members and Trad Gang members got together for a  night of Bowfishing. Special Thanks to Terry Recevuer for his Generosity and guiding prowess.

WE had about 50 shots and connected with about 10 fish. 3 fish were lost boat side due to deep shots with poor penetration.

Fish sightings were down from previous trips but the water was a bit muddy and we had a  full moon, not sure if that had a role in it but we had a great time none the less.

I will let the pictures tell the tale.

Very cool, I love Bow fishing!
For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.

Well, I gotta Thank Terry Receveur for his great hospitality!!  He makes some mean buttermilk pancakes and didn't step on my toes once while dancing!!!  This was my first time fishing for carp at night. Actually, the only carp I've taken were the early spawning fish that were tailing in shallow water.

Although I had about half the misses on the boat, I still had a blast with a bunch of great guys.  The missing part of it was quite humbling, although I did manage to get lucky sticking two.  Charlie has the hot eye as he accounted for most of the fish taken. Charlie's bud Chris was coming real close, I think he managed to arrow 2 or 3.

I think I'm hooked.  I just might have to invite myself again for another night shoot!!!

Looks like there was a lot of action Charlie. Question for all you bow fishing fans....what do you do with the fish, meaning mostly the carp.

I know in other countries they are table fare, how about here in the states?

                                                Good Shooting,

Sean, Charlie, and Chris were great to have along. They seemed to have a pretty good time. I'm sure we'll be doing it again.

MB, in the theme of "The Outlaw Josey Wales", "buzzards gotta eat same as worms". Some people have eaten carp. However, we are bowfishing on the Upper Hudson River and GE decided mercury would be OK to add to the ecosystem. They have actually been doing a great job in getting the river cleaned up, but I still don't eat anything but the seasonal Striped Bass out of it. We simply feed the turtles, of which we saw a couple whoppers!
