New TallTines Hybrid LB and Extreme Southern Testing
« on: July 14, 2014, 07:06:00 PM »
Over the past few months I have recieved a ton of PMs and emails asking if Brian is still building bows.  With the delivery of this Bocote beauty, I can say with authority and first hand experience, the answer is   YES!

It is a 62" and 59# @ 28" and   FAST!

I have not run it thru the chrono, but I am   very confident it will be plenty for anything in North America when I bring it back to my 30" draw.

I can also say with authority and personal experience that Mr. Wessel    IS accepting orders because I ordered another one yesterday    :goldtooth:

And a comparison to the regular TT longbow limb:

Looks better in the woods and that red stripe sets off the stitching on the Great Northern Kickback Extreme I had.

I said it looks better out in the woods than laying on the carpet, but it really looks best like this:

Even though it did not arrive that far from my departure date, the Hybrid TT shot so well and was so easy to tune, I decided it would be number one for my trip to South Africa.  You can't get much more "southern" than that...

My Waterbuck was killed with one of Larry Hannify's prototype "lightweight" Abowyer Whitetails.  I have been trying to kill a cougar for the past two seasons with them so they were all set at 200g (with aluminum adapter) on full length Axis 340s that the Hybrid loved.

The shot was close to 20 yards very late in the day.  The big head went thru the top of the heart and out the opposite side.  Waterbuck are every bit as big as elk, and this is a very mature and blocky bull.  He made a mad dash for 60 yards and I heard a huge thud.

Those 5 guys loaded him into the truck about 3" with each 1-2-3 tug.

I mentioned I am confident the Hybrid will work on any North American game.  This I know because it handled the largest African antelope without even blinking.  My Eland came from a 15 yard tree stand shot.  The 200g Abowyer Brown Bear went thru her so fast and quiet, she just hopped up, then walked   maybe 40 yards and fell over.  The arrow was buried 4" deep into the water hole.
