You guys know any place near Gunnison to pick up some dry ice.  Or on the way from CO Springs to Gunnison?

Check an ice cream shop.

There's a grocery store chain in Illinois called Meijers.  They sell the stuff in their store.  Don't know the price but noticed it the other day.  Maybe try a grocery store...

We have found it at local meat lockers.  There is a game processor in Silt, some in Rifle and I would imagine Gunnison has several.  Sometimes grocery stores in the larger hunting towns will stock it but that is not usually until later in September as they say the demand is pretty low until closer rifle season.

Gunnison CO, home to the smallest Wal-Mart in the country (or so I'm told).  Generally speaking, King Soopers Grocery carries dry ice out here.

Looks like CO Springs is the last King Soopers.  I would recommend you look for a game processor in Gunnison and make a phone call.  They should be able to help you.

Hope this helps.

You can usually pick some up at Walmart or Safeway in Salida.  You'll go right through here on your way, we're only an hour from gunnison.

There's a walmart in Alamosa.  Which I KNOW is not on the way from the Springs to Gunnison.  But, that time of year, I remember Dry Ice was available almost everywhere in hunting country!  I'd just look a bit when you drive in and make your plans from there.

Good Luck!!

There is a grocery store on the South side of hwy 50 right in the middle of Gunnison that has always had it when we have stopped. Don't remember the name of the store but you can't miss it.

I tried to buy some from a game processor /butcher in grand Forks and they said it was too much hassle to get approval to sell it, so they do not offer it anymore.
