My new target/garden shed
« on: July 27, 2014, 06:04:00 PM »
I finally got around to building a target shed. The detachable backstop on top is stacked 1x12's held together with square aluminum tubing that drops into steel tubing mounted on the doors. Behind the target is dense closed cell foam sandwiched between 4 layers of carpet and the back wall is covered with 3/4" horse stall mat (HEAVY recycled tire rubber). Everything is free to move except the horse stall mat.

I'm pretty happy with the end result what do you guys think?

I like that set up. I'd love to shoot in my yard, but I bet if I do, I'll be talking to the police shortly after.    :(

The picture is kinda deceptive but yeah, I'm thinking another 1x12 might be a good idea. Not that I've ever missed that badly at 25 yards...

Funny thing is Nick (my neighbor) would probably be the one to shoot his own house! He likes my pool and range and I like the fact that he runs a nano brewery out of his house. Makes for an excellent quid pro quo!    :D

That is pretty cool. Just think, a range to practice both field shooting and bow fishing.

I'm with PatB I wouldn't want to live in the house behind it with me shooting! When I "Jerk" one Lord knows where it will go but that house would be in danger.

Very nicely done!

I think that responsible shooting would keep the neighbors' house safe.  But being the careful person that I am, I would be constantly concerned about it.

I think the floating target idea sounds like a good one, too!
