Hey gang!  I'm in the market for a new bow, I feel as though I've gotten comfortable enough with my little "meh" bow and with the fact that I am indeed here to stay as far as sport/hobby is concerned.

My question is, for someone looking to get a deal on a bow, are the classifieds here worth while?  I don't want to spend $30 just for access to the classifieds if it turns out to be a waste of my time due to being outside of my price range.

I unfortauntely let a Bear Magnum in damned near perfect condition slip away from me on ****, was going for just over 200  :( .  Anyhow, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also keep in mind that I am not a collector, only a shooter, and so I will not be buying bows on a regular basis.  Quite sparingly, in fact.

I think it's worth it. Don't forget that you have access to the other classifieds as well. I have been buying up arrows and broadheads. They never go bad. You usually save on the item its self and then it's usually shipped for free also. I've bought some bows off the classifieds. You will get a top notch bow for sometimes half of what it's worth.

It is well worth it.  If you view TG more like a magazine subscription it makes sense. YES, you can read the forum posts and articles for free as a regular member...but you can literally entertain yourself for hours and hours reading incredible stories and helpful info here 24/7 365, in principle that is worth something.  If you view it that way then the classifieds just become a bonus.  And yes there are some incredible deals on bows from many of the top makers.  TG easily has the best variety of trad hunting bows on the web and if you post a wanted to buy ad you will actually get replies here.  I have received and have given some incredible deals as a buyer and seller, but make no mistake, all I have learned about hunting and history has been well worth the donation and is why I did it.  For the contributors this is like a tree they want to grow and never have go away.  That's speaking for myself.  There is also a cameraderie and honor system here that you can't get buying on fleabay.  For example, through trust and reputation some sellers have even been known to allow a high end expensive bow to be paid off over the course of several payments!  Or with some sellers who I have created friendships with over the years we have offered to send each other bows to try without even talk of a sale, just a test drive and stuff like that.  That kind of stuff has no price.

I think you will find it well worth your while. There are lots of other sites with bows for sale - the big auction site being one and more specialized archery sites as well. The Trad Gang classifieds are my primary source for used bows because they are being sold by trad shooters who know what they have and how to recognize problems with the bow if there are any. I have NEVER had a bow misrepresented by a Trad Gang seller.

As for price, I can't remember a better time to buy. It's definitely a buyers market right now.

There are at least 3 or 4 lefties that would be of interest to me if I had any cash left. As for right-handed bows, there are a bunch at less than 1/2 the cost of new.

If I was shopping for a bow I'd do it. I wasn't even shopping for anything and I dropped the coin just to window shop.  The on thing about Tradgang classifieds is you generally find higher quality offering here.   The only thing I wish is that pictures were mandatory.

X3 It also gets you into the chance to buy camping gear, hunting clothes, and many other things to compliment your hobby of archery/bowhunting.

I wish it was designed so everybody could look, but you have to join in order to buy.

It used to be set up so all could participate but, a few bad apples spoiled it for the rest of us.

I have never bought or sold a bow on the classifieds on this site and the $30 is "worth it" to me!
