What is the gram weight of paint crown dipping and cresting on an arrow. Of a wrap?

Not much.  I found the whole mess: nock, fletch and finish to weigh about 30 grains.  Crown and crest would be a portion of that but likely around 5-7 grains.  It would also depend on how much crown and crest was applied and the type of paint used.  I'll let you do the conversion from grains to grams.

I always crown dipped with Bohning but never weighed the arrows afterwards to see how much weight it added. All I know it never made a bit of difference in the flight of any of my arrows...both wood and aluminum.

I weighed one set I did and it added about 13 grains. That would be give or take depending on coats used and thickness I imagine as well.

With a water based poly unthinned I was getting about 10 gns per dip. I have now switched to Pro Fin and it is less than half. With Tru oil it is about 5 gns for 3 coats.

For my arrows, one coat of stain, three or four coats of Tung oil, Sharpie crest, fletching, and nock… total about 25 grains. Would add another 15 or 20 if I seal with water based poly.
