I'm looking at purchasing a Taipan that is #40 at my draw. It's a little lighter than I would prefer, but I've heard so many great things about Berry bows that I'm really interested in purchasing one.

Does the design of the Taipan lend itself to shoot harder than other bows of equal weight?

The one I'm interested in is 68" with boo cores.

I had to laugh when I read this Brian.

I know that you and Shawn Rackley are of the same mind on(con)"boo"and (pro)"elm" for bow cores.

Yesterday I was on the phone with JD and he told me he'd pick "Boo" over any other core material.

Just picking on you bro... no sweat!!!...lol

God bless,Mudd

Boo is hard to beat, but if I ordered one new it would be red elm or maple cores. LOL!

Boo is the BEST! Don't listen to Brian, he hit his head on a bamboo porch swing seat and hasn't liked boo since.

Basically the taipan is my favorite bow... It's a joy to shoot and hits hard. How hard is the question... Freaking hard is is the answer  :)

It's a no holds barred bad ass bow....  :)

I refuse to get new arrows so I had to build my shelf out to accommodate arrows I normally shoot with bows that are 10 pounds heavier...

I love this bow... I may be biased at this point  :)

And boo is the way to go, Brian's loco  :)

Actually Danny, it stems from my mom hitting me in the head with bamboo spoons when I tried to snag fresh cookies  :)

Ithink jd could build one with maple cores and it would be close to bamboo its in the design.

Burkburnett TX just north of Wichita Falls on OK border.  This will be my third JD Berry bow - I've used his serpentine since I don't remember when - great bow... need to send it back to have James put some new skins on her (would like some copperheads to replace the python skins on it)

What you need to do is bribe DaveT off of his slot, then order that bow with a combo yew/bamboo core.

I told you guys that Jame's order book sits right there in front of me at the morning coffee table and when he gets up to use the restroom, change a date here and a date there and presto your bow will be in a week. Send me the $$$$$$ and this could be done.  :bigsmyl:
