« on: January 22, 2007, 01:11:00 PM »
Just got back from my St. Jude's hunt in Florida with Bubba Stratton , I'll start another post about that , but upon arriving home a friend calls and it seems he has a time share in Hawaii this March and his wife can"t get off of work so he wants to know if I can go along on a hunt , we will be on the island of Kauai which has feral pigs , not sure what else , anyone with any expierence there ? Any help would be appreciated , thanks , Fred

Get ahold of Islandlongbow (Jerry). He lives there and can help you out with questions, I'm sure! He's very knowledgeable with what you may need for the islands as far as hunting license etc...he's a great person to talk with!
And his wife is my best bud!

https://hunting.ehawaii.gov/hunting/license.html;jsessionid=64E6044ECE9A81C4E0DAEE7F3B7FD4FC

Link to get your license.  You MUST get a hunter safety exemption letter and it takes several weeks.  You  need to mail them a copy of your Hunters Education card, a Bowhunters Ed card is NOT an acceptable substitute.

I did a Hawaii thread a couple months ago with pics but that was the Big Isand, the situation and terrain you will find on Kauai will be quite different.

Do a search on "Na Pali Coast".  The photos will be spectacular!

Make sure and search Hawaiian Airlines for tickets as you can get some REALLY cheap tickets if you plan carefully.

Hey Dude,
Check with HIRO on the traditional bows page. He lives in Hawaii. He might be able to help you out.
                                    Good Luck !

Hrmm, I'm headed to Kauai in June of '08.....

Mebbe I won't have to spend all my time in the junk shops with the ladies!

My wife's been wanting to go to the Big Island for awhile. Perhaps I can trade that trip for a trip to Africa. She will have NO idea I can hunt on Kauai..he he he. Have my cake and eat it too. Good luck Greyfox!
