"those smiles say it all"
« on: August 21, 2014, 02:06:00 PM »
My wife and I have taken on the duties of taking care of my nephews( 6, 8, and 9) as well as our own (14 months and new born).  It can be tough at times having 5 kids on a single income, but man can there be some great JOY.  Wanted to share some of their smiles that make the tough times worth having.

This is a picture of us bow fishing along a small ditch near the house.  This was Ben(left) and Dylans(right 1st gar to ever hit!

This was Ryans 1st gar to ever hit.  He was more excited than any kid you have ever seen on christmas!

This was Dylan's 1st gar to hit by himself(that is my arrow hanging out as well).  Usually what happens is 'Unkle D' puts an arrow in them to slow them down a bit.

Hero Pic

Surprised them all with some new bows for their birthdays.  These bows have yet to take down a gar, but will be on that mission this saturday(if we don't get rain between now and then!)

Mr. Deer Hunter himself.  Ryan was shooting at a deer target and watching and listening to him, you would have swore that it was a 100 point buck! lol.

These boys create some great memories.

Remember to pass on archery to the coming generations.  Whether it is your child, nephew, neighbors kids, or whatever else it could include, don't be selfish, share the outdoors.

Some times it will cost you, but it will always be worth it when you see those smiles.

God Bless,

Daniel

But its end is the way of death."  Proverbs 14:12

Dan, you are a great guy. I noticed you are a teacher. This post shows your true colors. I am 53 years old and still remember those that I looked up to in the sport of archery. They are some of my best memories. I'm mentoring a kid down the road from me and he is showing great promise. I can bore you for hours but to make a long story short is what you say is true. It's worth it.

You and your wife must be wonderful people, talk about making a difference.... They may not end up as tradgangers  but they won't be gangbangers either....
