As these things go it is going to be a little trickier to shoot a moose with that Blacktail since I am now restricted to hunting in November...my friend I was going to hunt with early has only a small window when he can be at home to hunt with so I opted to go it on my own in a different area...the nice thing is I was not even thinking about the possibility of moose hunting a week ago...if you are feeling a bit sorry for me let me tell you how my year will go:

1. I can hunt elk as early as Monday if I decide to do a little travelling

2. I can hunt elk and mule deer close to home starting September 1 and going until October 31

3. I can hunt in the Bow Zone an hour away, anything but moose now, for three months starting September 1

4. I kind of regard whitetail as a target of opportunity and will simply take them as they come

5. I may very well make and elk hunt in the rut in a very good area I discovered back in 2011

6. If, by November 1, I still do not have enough game meat in my freezer I am off to the moose hunt

Alberta is just a wonderful place to live for a bowhunter.

Always willing to adopt traditional bowhunters with better eyesight than I have...elk calling skills greatly appreciated as well as I am new to the whole bugling process...and I was just thinking this morning about all the work involved in disassembling a moose once it is on the ground...in return you can of course hunt with any of my bows...I only need one of them at a time
