James Berry outdid himself with this Taipan
« on: August 24, 2014, 08:22:00 AM »
got home yesterday and found a nice surprise at my front.... my new Taipan from James Berry.  Words nor pictures can capture the beauty of this bow.   Took it out this morning,  strung it,  set a temp nok and grabbed a 55/75 with a 205 simmons.... First three shots were in the 4" magic circle at 15 yards.   I did no tuning, set a nook at 3/8 and yes it tossed a broadhead tipped arrow exactly where I looked with authority.  I think this may actually be my fastest bow... definitely faster than my blackwidow recurve and most of my longbows.

The woods are wenge and bubinga riser, boo cores and bocote limb veneers.  57# @ 27 inches

Goog on ya!  Boy tat sure is a beautiful bow!  James can do some making things with wood eh?  The glue lines and craftsmanship look flawless.  What a great bow!

Once again I have to say.....I'm not surprised but always amazed.

Mr Berry has figured out "one eyed" bow building already.

Kudos to you JD and congratulations to you Dave.

Wow!  It seems to me that these just get more intricate and beautiful the more malady's he has to overcome.

Congrats on an absolute stunner!

Now THAT is perfection.
Love the arches, James hasn't done one like thst for some time.
I'm starting to wonder if his second eye wasn't holding him back.  Lol

I'm up in December, and a taipan is what im having him build.  My current taipan is the yardstick by which all other s are measured.
