The vast majority of mesquite where I hunt is only about as big around as your thumb.  You just can not get a clear picture of rack size by how big a tree the deer rubs on.

If I found something that size rubbed I would be real interested in seeing the culprit.

Good luck Denny.  Mike.

I think you need a bigger bow. ( A line out of Jaws!)

Denny, I'd keep Ron away from that spot if I were you.

Hey Denny, nice looking bow, the tree is no slough either.  How about some specs on the bow...widow PL...looks like green lams on the belly?

What makes me think that we will be seeing a picture of Denny with a huge buck in a few days?????

Good luck with introducing yourself to the culprit.

You gonna leave that bow there so if any of us happens upon that spot well know it's already spoken for. ;)

Jeff, The bow is just a stock PLII td. Must be a green light reflection.

swp, Man, I wish, but I've hunted good sign before and got burnt.

The tine height scratches on the tree lead me to believe the buck's rack is very tall. I snuck through the area again today and spotted 6 more rubs in the same small area.

The scrape is 10' in diameter and has 4 trails going through it. Looks like a classic hub that you read about. It was there last year and I hunted close enough to shoot it. I positioned a treestand 80 yards down wind of it this year.

Best of luck to everybody! Denny

Den,

I'll arm wrestle you for that hunting spot. No wait, whoever can pull the heaviest bow gets to hunt it. No wait...

Good luck this season. If our STATE isn't able to balance the budget in the next couple of days, we may actually have to HUNT TO EAT.
