New Rick Welch Dakota
« on: August 28, 2014, 10:06:00 AM »
My new Rick Welch Dakota Pro Hunter Recurve showed up yesterday.  I placed the order in May 2013 - it was a long wait but well worth it.  I am a big fan of Rick's bows and I have several others.  They are easy to shoot, smooth, and fast.  However, in most cases, they are not the best looking bows out there.  That is not the case with this new bow.   Rick made some improvements to his design including a revised grip which really fits my hand and a new shelf which has some radius and a groove for feather clearance.  The fit and finish is top notch and the Bacote is outstanding.  The bow is 58" and 50# at 28".  I draw the bow 29" so I think the weight at my draw should be around 52# or 53#.  I am planning to shoot Full Metal Jackets with a muzzy Phantom four blade.

Just my specs! If it doesn't fit I think it might find a home in PA!
Best of Luck, enjoy your new bow, it is the best looking Dakota I have ever seen. Killer bacote.

It shoots great.  I haven't had a 58" bow in a while and I was a little nervous that it would stack but no problem.   It is smooth and very quiet.
