Maddog bow arrived!

Just got my bow in the mail from Mike at Maddog archery, I got the 4th of July giveaway he did for my daughter, but was so impressed with the speed and lines of his kids bows I decided to get my own Prairie Predator to shoot.  I have always had a short draw (25") so when I saw that he could make a D/R long bow that was shorter (54")  with that draw in hunting weight I couldn't resist.  It is a beautiful, affordable bow, and holy mother does it shoot fast!  Pictures tomorrow!  Thanks Mike for making a great product that even a Junior High Teacher can afford!

I asked for walnut, now don't get me wrong I love a good exotic hardwood as much as the next guy but...I have a special love for good clean grained American Hardwoods, Maple and walnut especially so this bow was perfect for me.  Did I mention it shoots like a dream, and sorry for the blurry pic in the middle, at least you can see the numbers.  And Mike your welcome, I appreciate the gratitude for teaching, I teach Junior High American History and love my job.  It also allows me to spend all summer with my girls. That is precious to me and whatever we do we get to do it together a lot in the summer.  This summer they caught the archery bug. so I spent most of July making arrows for my kids and setting up shoots in the backyard.  We had a blast.

Just one more if you will indulge me, seem to shoot a little to the right, I spined these arrows to a different bow so I had to adjust but once I adjusted  to it I think I did ok.  only 15 yards so not mind blowing but good enough for me.

It fits me perfect, I have short arms and smallish hands and it is hard to get something that really feels good, let alone that I can get full potential out of because of my short draw.  This Prairie Predator was perfect and because it is comfortable to shoot, and I can get the full reach of the bow I think it is more accurate for me.  It is also a very quiet bow and I LOOOOOOVE the grip and shelf for ease of use.  I'll zero it in even better once I get a nocking point established.  And James you are right he is a great guy to work with!!
I can see myself getting another one with a different look but don't tell my wife she already thinks I have too many toys!

The next pictures I post with this bow and these arrows will hopefully be with bloody game animals from a successful foray into the woods.  skipping big game this year as I didn't draw for anything but next year.....fingers crossed

For such a short bow, that thing sure is a looker! Some great shooting to! Congrats and may it last you many years of service. Mike makes some excellent bows at a working mans budget! Glad he's part of our team.

We just ordered some from Mike to sell in the shop.  Course, I have to set them up!  The owner liked my personal bow so much, he called Mike.
