Congrats Jim!!!!

You stuck it out with the self Bow. I admire that.

Way to stick with the track until you found her!  I had a  very bad day today but this has been a welcome update.  Thank you!
Relax,

After butchering today we went out to look for my arrow. I always find it interesting to walk an evening blood trail in the daylight.

Last nights deer was on a death run from the instant the arrow struck her. We found several trees that she slammed into causing blood to spray in all directions. This made the trail very difficult to follow.

On the main trail just above where we found her is this final tree she hit.

This collision must have knocked her to the ground. She then rolled a few yards downhill and  was stopped from rolling further by a log.

Without that log to stop her with her belly facing up, I may have walked right by.

Jayne ( old eagle eyes ) found my arrow too.

Sorry Charley , I did not shoot her with the self bow, it was my 3 pc longbow instead.
