Got my Asbell zip jacket
« on: September 08, 2014, 10:28:00 AM »
It's wool. The pattern is Morning Mist and I was surprised how rich but subdued the coloration is. I could immmediately appreciate this was hand made. My wife made her own wedding dress...
The fit is generous and you are not cheated by short sleeve length. I mean if it is too long you can always roll up the sleeve, if it is too short you look like a jake turkey. She sewed this so you don't look like a jake.

When I wore it the first time on a 61 degree day to drive to work I had the feeling I had years ago. It felt the same as wearing a new pair of dirty bucks with the red sole. If you are old enough, you know what those are and how cool it was to have a pair on.

Asbell wool and trad hunting go together like peas and carrots.  I just sold the one I bought earlier this year so I can try a new color this coming season.

Congrats, they are very functional for hunting.  Warm, comfortable and they seem to absorb rather than reflect light and help you blend in.  I have several.

Let me also say this: I replied to the Asbell contact email after I got the jacket to say I was pleased and BOTH Fred and Teresa replied with a kind note.
Love people like that!

I decided that I prefer the zipper jackets so recently sold my pullovers here.  Just today I placed my order for new zipper jackets.  Couldn't decided between Evening Stand, Morning Midst, or Hedgeapple Hideaway.  So I ordered one of each!

I should be well stocked this fall!  Great products at great prices.

Roadkill-I had mine exactly one week after placing my order. This was about three weeks ago. I'd say they are getting slammed now though...hunting season is upon us so I'm sure it's crunch time.

I ordered a large Timber Ghost extra heavy zippered w/hood yesterday, expecting to have it by late season, and got the notification it was shipped today.

Probably depends on what she has on hand.

I ordered a zip up in timber ghost last Tuesday and had it Friday. Finally had time to put it on today and love it. I'm a little concerned cause I though the extra heavy weight might be more like Columbia wool cloths (HEAVY) it just seems light but then again I know nothing about wool and you trad guys recommended this weight for upstate New York. I also bought the wind blocker vest, everything seems to be great quality and I am pumped to try them out.

Always worn Evening Stand Green. But I'm really liking the looks of the Morning Mist.
