PVC Bow Racks,.. show us yours...
« on: September 08, 2014, 09:59:00 PM »
Since it's archery season in many parts of the country, daily practice is in full swing and sometimes buddies come over for a shoot. I needed a safe place to put our bows and arrows while being pretty portable at the same time. A recent post online reminded of PVC bow stands and I decided to tackle the project today.

I built this one with 4 arrow tubes and plenty of room for 4 bows (I fit 6 on there easy, but the extra space between the bows is nice). The footing was set up so I could step between arrow tubes and carry the stand to where it needs to go. The 4 arrow tubes and 4 legs are removable for storage. The bottom of the tubes have 5 tiny holes drilled in them for drainage in case it rains. Here it is holding a Bob Lee Bicentennial, Firefly TD Longbow, Dryad Orion and Fox Breed...

I painted it solid OD Green, but my Wife wants me to camo it out. What say you? (I know, just listen to my Wife... it's a LOT safer.)

I know there are a bunch of different ideas out there, so if you've built one too, please feel free to post a pic of yours for future inspiration.

Lets see yours...

Happy Hunting,

Stump

Thanks Guys. Im looking forward to seeing yours!

Wannabe1, I built the backstop this year too. It has 2 horse stall mats attached to the back and a tarp cover to keep UV/rain target deterioration to a minimum. The bar up top allows me to hang bags, balls or old 3D parts to mix it up when shooting, or I can pull all the hanging targets and fit a full sized 3D deer inside. I also made this one relatively easy to break down, so we can take it when we flee the state when I retire.   :D

That's awesome! The bow rack is a perfect compliment to the target set up. I keep saying I'm going to build "something". Really at this point "anything" would be an improvment. I've lost 2 arrows from my latest batch of surewoods I made up, and while cheaper than past arrows it still pangs my heart a little more each time I do it with home made ones, haha. But its like I tell my wife, losing arrows is just part of it. Still, if my buddy had a set up like that I'd pitch a tent in his yard! Haha

that is a great setup all around.  only thing missing is a broadhead pit.
