Wow...! Congratulations. I did have a wolf tag in my pack while in BC. People just don't realize how large a Wolf is. I walked in their tracks and was amazed!

Awesome Jay! I know of maybe eight trad wolf kills including three in Alaska. I know most of them were incidental to bear baiting like Gun said above. I know of two that were spotted and stalked while moose/caribou hunting. I shot mine by still hunting into wolf howls. My buddy and I purposely left camp to wolf hunt on at least two days and had several close calls before I worked in on and shot mine at under 15 yards. Bryan Burkhardt from MI shot one in AK this year too.

Congratulations! What kind of call were you using? Were you calling into the wind? Cross wind? Bouncing the sound off the trees? Did you anticipate where they would likely be bedded when you approached/started calling? Thanks. - John
