Uh Oh, A New Contender in Town!
« on: September 12, 2014, 08:05:00 PM »
Well, new to me that is! Just received this Liberty Contender Elite yesterday and have been shooting it. Now most who know me all the years on this site, know how I love the longbow! This longbow is beyond words! Allen Boise only lives about an hour and a half down the interstate from me and I have always wanted one of his bows. It finally happened thanks to a great Trad Ganger who's service is beyond reproach. The whole transaction was a great pleasure!

66", 45# @ 28". Gotta love our native Myrtlewood here in Oregon!    :D

Thanks everyone. It is surprisingly very quiet and light as a feather. I am predicting a long and happy relationship with this one.

Congrats, W1.  I've had a couple Contenders and still have one.  Easily one of the best mild D/R longbows I've shot.  I really like them.

That is a beauty! Oregon wood, made by an Oregon guy. I have a Contender and a Classic and will always have a peg on the bow rack for them. Enjoy!

Well, I've been shooting it and getting real familiar with how she handles. She is just a real joy and easy mannered longbow, I think the Cornstalker will probably need a new home!   :biglaugh:  My wife says it is really quiet when she stands on the back porch and watches me shoot.
