A PA hunter in NJ ...10/12 update.
« on: September 18, 2014, 02:24:00 PM »
I couldn't wait to get out of work this morning. My job is about 15 minutes from my favorite hunting area. I got out at 6:00, and was set up by 6:45. The weather has been changing, and it is great to be out again. This was my third time out for NJ early season. I saw a little buck a ways out after about an hour sitting. Hope to get out tomorrow as well. Game on!

I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

Yes Mike. Seeing more deer in the evening and night going to work than I do during the day. Saw a real beast with velvet dangling around his face the other morning around 4:30

Hey Paul, PA opening soon. Good luck.

Ed, good luck to you.

Zone? Yea, I'm in the zone.   :D

Dan, don't worry. I grew up in NJ, and have hunted Jersey my whole life. I'm in zone 5 and have passed a buck all ready. Don't need a buck, just want some meat in the freezer.

Good luck Jerry. Hunted zone 5 in back of the hatchery for years. But my go to is in 4. Up top of the wallpac valley.  I'll be camping hunting 3rd week of oct in the worthington campgrounds.  If you want to do a hunt for those big boys up top. Stop by  going to try to get my northstar bloody.

Been out a few more mornings after the kids get off to school. Dropping in a spot just across the river, maily been still hunting. Had a couple encounters with some small bucks, but have to let them pass. (Earn a buck in effect). Also had a bear close. Still been pretty warm out. Trying to get some time in before I get stuck in the hospital again. Cancer sucks!

Another day of action. Had a very young deer come up behind me while taking a leak. Passed right by and fed away through an oak flat. Sucks not being ready. Oh well, there is always tomorrow.
