salvaging a fall, off to MN
« on: September 27, 2007, 08:36:00 AM »
Well after setting up 3 different hunts and having them all fall through due to pilot or partner issues (I should say lack thereof regarding partners), I think I may have salavaged my fall a little bit.

Going to Mn.  Then over to ND for some black powder shotgun pheasant hunting with my old man.

Then heading back to Mn and plan on deer hunting for the rest of the trip.

I'll be north of the cities a ways.....16 to 31 oct if anyones around and wants to chew some fat for a bit...

Good luck up there.  Sorry your Alaska hunts didn't work.

Hey Dan,
Sorry to hear about your hunts.
We were knocking around going back for a visit this fall also...around Thanksgiving though.
ND black powder sounds like a hoot.
Got lots of family N. of the cities.
Have a great trip.

no worries, I kind of expected this fall to get washed up, reason for those two back up hunts.

Yup AK the bp shotgun hunt is going to be a riot.

As is chasing whitetails around my old stomping ground with the longbow again.  It's been a few years since I've hunted Mn, shot a buck and a doe last time.....back in the early years we saw some down right awesome bucks, they are still there!  If it wouldnt have taken me 15 minutes to shoot my buck and 2 more days to shoot a doe, I just might have seen them  :) .

Figured there must be some kind of 3d shoot or something going in MN?   Heck just a tg get together?  Definatly the wrong time of year for one, but then again it's not something I get to do much of, get outside, and when I do I'm usually planned pretty tight.  Tried hooking up with Chad Holmes last spring to build a bow.   Hope to get up there just to check things out this fall, be nice to see what he's got going on and answer some unanswered questions I have.  I'll get into building, sooner then later I hope.

Dan,

Thought about trying to get ahold of you when my wife and I were up doing the sight seeing tour a few weeks ago. Was hoping to do a fishing charter while we were there but it didn't work out.

 Willy,

I spent last week in Palmer hanging out with my outfitter and chasing down parts for his airboat.
