Handle depth
« on: September 27, 2007, 09:15:00 AM »
How deep are the handles with the Hill grip?  Would especially like to know how deep they are on Hill bows and on Robertson bows.  I shot a Robertson  a while back and it felt comfortable to me.  I would like the measurement from the back of the bow to the bottom of the handle.  Also, how wide was it at the bottom?  Thanks for the help.  Coach

If you order the bow new, you can get the handle size just about anything you wantn from either guy.  I have two of each.  The Hills are 1 1/8 inch wide.  Standard depth is about 2 inches to the outside of the leather wrap.  I ordered one that is 1 3/4 inches.  The Robertson's are 1 1/4 inch wide to the outside of the leather wrap.  Depth at the throat is 1 3/4 on one bow, 1 7/8 on the other.  Depth at the base of the leather wrap is about 2+ inches on each.  Both my Robertsons are fairly new.  I've had a number of older Robertsons.  IMO, he made the grip area just a tad smaller/sleeker in years past.  Both good bows, but they have different feels.  Took one of each on my elk hunt this year.
