I would certainly not give up. It may mean some last minute planning, but you can find something. I have a love/hate with public lands. I hunt on post and it can be a pain sometimes but it has made me a better hunter. Just this morning I missed a fat little doe from my brush blind and tripod stool (I said a better hunter, not a bettet shot! Haha). Post is like a lot of WMAs in that its well managed and large. Theres opportunity to be had for those that try. I gave up treestands and never got into cameras. These things have allowed me to remain flexible and mobile and to really read the situations better. Ive been out 3 times this season, thr first day was a terrible storm, saw nothing, second time a got into a game of stalk and seek with a doe but she won in the end and I never got a shot off, then this morning the near miss. Im sold. Either way good luck and i hope it all works out for you!
