Stalking Saltwater Fins… VIDEO added pg2 (new bowfishing rig)
« on: September 22, 2014, 12:47:00 PM »
Now that our favorite hunting area is closed, Staci and I have some free time to get some fishing done. Since leaving my bow home is so difficult, I decided to take it with us!        ;)

It's amazing how smart these fish are... I need to stalk them like I'm actually hunting. The fish and game on our island are extremely educated!!!

Spotted a few more reef fish from a vantage point.

That didn't work out either, so I had to beef up my sun protection and head as close to the fish without actually swimming with them.

Although I didn't connect, I did have a blast! The skittish fish and ocean surge sure made it challenging. It's a good thing that Staci brought her fishing pole. If not, we wouldn't have had any fish for dinner!

Ryan,  I think I see your problem, you're not wearing any camo or is that tourist camo

Seriously, which reef fish are you after?  I am also a diver though almost always in marine parks so have never had an opportunity to spear anything but Lion fish.

Thanks Gang!

Daniel, if you're ever in town, let me know!

LOL Pete!

Here's a snap shot to what we have here. For the most part, all of are reef fish are edible and tasty!     ;)

I've always thought parrot fish should be on the menu someplace, they sure get big.  I have also heard that hog fish are some of the best eating.

Parrot fish are definitely targeted here in the islands!!!
I don't think we have those hog fish here, but I have heard they're great eating (if it's the correct fish that I'm thinking of).
